ROS Legacy Release Date and Roadmap
ROS Legacy is already out. It runs as a free Open Beta on Windows PC and Android, and anyone can download it without an invite code or pre-registration. The full launch, called Official Release on the roadmap, is the next phase, but Mirae Labs has not attached a date, a month or even a season to it.
The five roadmap phases
The official roadmap runs in five steps. Three testing phases are behind the game, the Open Beta is running now, and Official Release closes the list without a date.
Alpha Test

Where ROS Legacy is playable today
Release status differs by platform. Windows and Android have working official files, while iPhone and iPad have no App Store version yet.
From Coming Soon to Open Beta
Players could pre-register for one week, from 16 to 22 July.
The Myth Games game page said Coming Soon and collected e-mail pre-registrations.
Coming Soon became Play Free Now, and the Windows version could be downloaded.
The game page declared ROS Legacy officially live and free on Windows PC, launcher included, with servers online.
Games press described the Windows release as a pre-beta run through Myth Games.
Android joined through a Pre-OBT that Mirae Labs opened to every player, no invitation needed.
The status on roslegacy.net moved from Closed Beta to Open Beta.
The official site listed the Open Beta as live and iOS as Coming Soon.
Release questions
Is ROS Legacy out yet?
Yes. The Open Beta is playable now on Windows PC through the official ZIP and on Android through the official APK. It costs nothing and needs no invite code; the only requirement is a Mirae Labs account to sign in.
When is the Official Release?
No date has been announced. Official Release is the fifth and last roadmap phase and is marked Next, which only tells you it follows the Open Beta. A launch date that appears only in a video title or a repost is not an announcement; watch the official Discord server and Facebook page instead.
Was there a Closed Beta (CBT)?
Yes. Closed Beta is Phase 03 on the roadmap and is marked Completed, after the Alpha Test and the Pre-Closed Beta Test. The official site kept Closed Beta as its status until it switched to Open Beta in late September 2026.
Can I still pre-register?
There is nothing left to pre-register for. The ROS Legacy pre-registration window closed in July 2026, and the game has been downloadable since August. ROS: Origin, a separate revival by Obsidian Games, ran its own pre-registration, which closed on 17 October 2026.
When did the original Rules of Survival come out?
NetEase's Rules of Survival entered beta in November 2017, launched worldwide on 31 May 2018 and shut down on 27 June 2022. ROS Legacy is a fan-made revival of that game, so its own release dates all fall in 2026.
