Rules of Survival was NetEase's battle royale from 2017 until it shut down on 27 June 2022, and several fan teams have since tried to bring it back under similar names. ROS Legacy is the revival published by Mirae Labs, Myth Games until September 2026, and it is playable in Open Beta on Windows and Android. ROS: Origin is a separate PC project by Obsidian Games, while RoS Reborn and Return of Survival are smaller fan projects with their own Discord servers. None of them is run by NetEase, and old NetEase accounts work in neither ROS Legacy nor ROS: Origin.

How to tell them apart
Check the address
ROS Legacy files come from dl.roslegacy.net and its edge.roslegacy.net and cdn.mobile.roslegacy.net servers. ROS: Origin lives at rulesofsurvival.net, a name that sounds like the original game but belongs to Obsidian Games.
Check the account
ROS Legacy signs you in with a Mirae Labs ID from mirae-labs.com, and ROS: Origin uses an Obsidian Games account. A page asking for an old NetEase login belongs to neither.
Check the platform
ROS: Origin lists Windows 10 or later as its only platform, so an Android APK offered under that name is not from Obsidian Games.
Check the Discord
The ROS Legacy server is discord.gg/roslegacy, with about 147,000 members. RoS Reborn and Return of Survival run separate servers of their own.

Is ROS Legacy made by NetEase?
No. NetEase made the original Rules of Survival and closed it on 27 June 2022. ROS Legacy is a fan-made revival published by Mirae Labs, and its launch pages describe it as not affiliated with or endorsed by the original publisher or rights holders.
Is ROS Legacy the same game as ROS: Origin?
No. They are two revivals by different teams. ROS Legacy comes from Mirae Labs and runs on Windows and Android in Open Beta; ROS: Origin comes from Obsidian Games, targets Windows PC only and was in Closed Beta Test in October 2026. Accounts and download servers are separate.
Can I use my old Rules of Survival account?
No. Neither ROS Legacy nor ROS: Origin accepts old NetEase accounts. Create a Mirae Labs ID to play ROS Legacy, and a separate Obsidian Games account if you also want to try ROS: Origin once it opens to more players.
Is ROS Legacy legit?
It is a real, playable fan project rather than a scam page: the official links serve files whose sizes and hashes you can check, Uptodown counts more than 314,000 Android downloads and the official Discord has about 147,000 members. It is not a NetEase product, so install only from the official links.
